The federal government has unveiled a new initiative — the Nigeria Talent Accelerator Network — designed to empower young Nigerians with digital skills and enable them to tap into global work opportunities. The programme marks the country’s integration into the wider Global Accelerators Network and is coordinated by the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP).
The initiative, which forms part of the World Economic Forum’s Reskilling Revolution in Nigeria, is jointly overseen by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and the Ministry of Education under a multi‑stakeholder partnership framework.
During the launch, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, described the move as a decisive step towards forging a globally competitive workforce capable of driving the next phase of Nigeria’s industrialisation and innovation push. She highlighted how the programme will create avenues for Nigerians to work remotely for global employers.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, detailed the vision and the supporting policy framework that will underpin the network’s operations. He emphasised the importance of turning intent into tangible outcomes in digital‑skill development for young people.
The platform is expected to mobilise a wide range of partners—public, private and educational—to drive talent development that meets evolving economic demands.
This move positions Nigeria to better harness the abundant youth talent in a rapidly digitising global economy by equipping them with in‑demand skills and connecting them to international work opportunities.
